Hi everyone,
After the energy spent dancing last night everyone had a really good sleep. The children seem to be well rested and happy. We have just finished breakfast and they are now packing their bags so that they can be loaded onto the coach whilst we do the Andy Goldsworthy art activity.
Some of the children have complained that the trip is not long enough and that they want to stay on here a few more days!! That is a good sign and means that they must have enjoyed themselves. They have been extremely well behaved throughout the trip and yesterday at the musuem they were particularly impressive. They were very interested in everything they saw and in our assembly last night, some of them said that the Palace was the highlight of the trip. (That was before the disco, of course).
We aim to be back in Rio by 4 o'clock. I will phone the school when we leave the Crystal Palace so that an estimated time of arrival can be established.
Well we are about to start the Andy Goldsworthy activity. If there is time I will do a last posting afterwards, if not, see you this afternoon at the school.

Disco Dancin'
As you can see from the picture published below, everyone had a ball at the Petropolis Trip Disco. Thanks to the wigs, glasses and other brightly glowing and flashing parapheralia very kindly sent by Ms. Vany, Felipe's mother, there was certainly no need for disco lights to illuminate the occasion.
The hotel provided a large amplification system to ensure that everyone (in Itiapava) could hear the music and a great time was had by all.
As I write this the children are tucked up in bed, lights out and falling asleep. Tomorrow they will be woken a bit later, at 7:30, due to the later night they had tonight. Some of them are very tired but all of them have said that they have had a wonderful trip so far.
We will see you all back at the school tomorrow evening somewhere between 4 and 4:30.

Imperial Palace
Hi everyone,
We have just returned to the hotel from the visit to the Imperial Palace. We had a good tour of the palace at our own pace, conducted by the teachers. The children were very impressed with the musuem and emerged some two hours later, tired but content.
The picture just recently posted shows the group outside the Palace after the tour. Sorry that this is the only picture so far but it has taken the best part of half an hour to upload it - giving you some idea of the speed of the internet here.
Everyone is still in fine form. So far we have had no illnesses nor accidents - touchwood, it will continue that way for the rest of the trip.
At the moment some of the children are resting, gathering their energy for tonight's disco. We have a great night planned for them. Others are out enjoying their free time before dinner.
Tomorrow we have the Andy Goldsworthy event and then we make our way to the Crystal Palace and back to school.
The tour guide and coach driver have both been excellent and have helped to make the trip work, as have the staff at the hotel. They seem slightly bemused to have 22 children running around, but at the same time they have all joined in the fun.
I will write more later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Pictures
Unfortunately, the pictures seem to be too big to upload on the system here. I will keep trying. We have just finished the picture hunt, which was a very close competition. The winning team only just made it with the other two teams very close indeed.
At the moment the children are enjoying free time. Some are playing football and tennis, whilst others have braved the swimming pool under the watchful eye of the life guard. They are continuing to have a great time and are getting on really well together.
Today, after lunch, we will be going to the Imperial museum.
